Terms of service.
The agreement between you and ReleaseStack when you use our website, our brand and creator dashboards, or a paid plan.
Introduction
ReleaseStack (“ReleaseStack”, “we”, “us”) is a software workspace for creator campaigns on X. Brands write a brief, find creators our team has reviewed, send offers, and track every post and payment in one place. Creators apply, receive offers, deliver posts, and request payouts.
ReleaseStack is operated by an individual based in India. You can reach us at contact@thereleasestack.com.
By creating an account, buying a plan, or using thereleasestack.com, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you use ReleaseStack for a company, you confirm you can accept these Terms for it, and “you” means that company. If you don’t agree, don’t use ReleaseStack.
Accounts
Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- Brands sign up with a work email. Creators apply and can be invited to campaigns only after our team approves their profile.
- One email belongs to one role: a brand, creator, or staff account.
- You access your account with a one-time verification code sent to your registered email address. Keep access to your email and devices secure; you are responsible for activity on your account, and you should tell us straight away if you notice any unauthorised access.
- The information you give us, including your profile, audience figures and payout details, must be accurate and kept up to date.
Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using ReleaseStack at any time and ask us to close your account. We may pause or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts other users at risk, or is required to by law. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Deals already accepted are settled under these Terms: posts that were published are paid out, and amounts for posts that weren’t are refunded.
Subscriptions and refunds
Plans and billing for brands
Writing and saving briefs as drafts is free. Launching campaigns and inviting creators needs a paid plan. Current plans, prices and limits are shown on our pricing section and at checkout, and the plan you buy is the one shown there at the time.
- Plans are subscriptions billed monthly in US dollars, in advance, and renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- Each plan includes monthly allowances (such as campaigns and creator invitations) and a creator spend fee, a percentage added to the amounts you agree with creators. Unused allowances don’t carry over.
- When you upgrade or switch plans, the change applies straight away and the price difference for the rest of the month is charged at that time.
- You can cancel at any time in your brand dashboard: open Billing and choose Manage subscription. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then ends. You won’t be charged again.
- If a renewal payment fails, you keep access for a short grace period while you update your payment method. After that, launching and invitations are paused until payment succeeds. Your campaigns and conversations are kept.
- We may change plan prices or features. Price changes apply from your next billing period after we tell you, and you can cancel before then.
Payments processed by Dodo Payments
Subscription payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our Merchant of Record and authorised reseller. When you buy a plan, you buy it from Dodo Payments, and Dodo’s own Buyer Terms also apply to that purchase. Dodo handles checkout, payment methods, invoices, applicable sales tax and VAT, and the subscription portal. Charges may appear on your statement under Dodo Payments’ name. We never see or store your full card details.
Refunds
Subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partial months, unused allowances, downgrades, and cancellation part way through a period, except where the law requires otherwise. The only money we refund is for creator deals: if a creator doesn’t publish a post you paid for, you get that amount back. The full rules are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Creator deals
How deals work
A creator deal starts when a brand sends an offer (or accepts a creator’s application) and the creator accepts it. The offer states the deliverables, the amount, the deadline and the payment terms. Both sides agree to deliver what the accepted offer says.
- Brand payment. The brand pays the agreed creator amount, plus its plan’s creator spend fee, to ReleaseStack before the work starts. This payment is separate from your subscription and is not processed by Dodo Payments; we send payment instructions for each deal.
- Holding. We hold the creator amount until the post is published and the brand approves the delivery.
- Not posted, refunded. If the creator doesn’t publish the post by the agreed deadline, or the deal is cancelled before it’s published, the brand gets the creator amount and the spend fee on it back in full.
- Creator payout. After the brand approves the delivery, the creator can request a payout. We pay within 14 days of the brand’s approval (Net 14) to the creator’s verified payout method.
- Revisions. A brand can ask for changes that match the brief before approving. Requests outside the brief need the creator’s agreement.
- Disclosure. Sponsored posts must be clearly labelled as paid partnerships, as X’s rules and advertising law require.
For creators
- You’re an independent creator, not our employee or agent, and you decide which offers to accept.
- Your audience figures, analytics and past collaborations must be genuine. Fake engagement, bought followers or edited screenshots can lead to removal and loss of unpaid amounts tied to them.
- We verify payout details before your first payout. Payouts go only to a method in your name. For crypto payouts, you’re responsible for giving an address that accepts that coin on that network; funds sent to a wrong address can’t be recovered.
- You’re responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
- Your public profile shows the details described in our Privacy Policy, including your rates and the audience figures you provide.
For brands
- Briefs, products and claims you ask creators to make must be lawful and accurate.
- You approve or request changes to submitted posts promptly, and pay as each accepted offer states.
- You don’t move a deal off ReleaseStack to avoid fees while it’s running.
- On the Max plan, our team runs managed campaigns for you within the plan’s limits. You still approve briefs, offers and spend.
General terms
Content and licences
You keep ownership of what you upload, including briefs, brand assets, profiles and posts. You give us permission to host, display and process it only to run ReleaseStack, for example to show your public profile or share a brief with invited creators. Usage rights to a creator’s post are whatever the accepted offer says. Without anything stated, the brand may share and link to the published post but not re-edit it or use it in paid ads. The ReleaseStack name, software and design belong to us.
Acceptable use
Don’t use ReleaseStack to:
- break the law, X’s rules, or anyone’s rights;
- promote anything illegal, deceptive or harmful, including scams, gambling, or unlicensed financial products;
- harass people, send spam, or scrape other users’ data;
- misrepresent who you are, your audience, or your results;
- probe, disrupt, or get around security or plan limits.
Third-party services
ReleaseStack works with services we don’t control, such as X, Dodo Payments, and the payment methods creators choose. Their own terms apply to them. We aren’t responsible for their availability or for changes they make, such as X changing its rules or features.
Disclaimers
ReleaseStack is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We review creators before they can receive offers, but we can’t guarantee any campaign’s reach, engagement, sales or other results.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the three months before the claim, plus any creator-deal amounts we hold for you that are due under these Terms. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you supplied, a product you promoted, or your breach of these Terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting a formal dispute, please email us so we can try to resolve it. If we can’t, the courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction. This doesn’t take away any consumer rights you have where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as ReleaseStack changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll tell you by email or in your dashboard before they take effect. Continuing to use ReleaseStack after that means you accept the updated Terms.
